Camp is coming-Register NOW!
Alaska Mining Action Camp September 14-16 National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) Farm Loop Road, just outside Palmer
Join activists from Alaska, Appalachia and beyond for a two-day camp to learn about community organizing in the face of large-scale extractive industries. Workshops, activities, entertainment, and discussion will focus on building solidarity between Native Alaskan and non-native activists, strengthening ties between various environmental and social justice campaigns in Alaska, contributing to the emergence of a national anti-extraction movement, delving into root causes of our current social and environmental crisis, expanding the range of tactics available to us in addressing this crisis, and of course; sharing stories, food, and fun.
There is plenty of room for camping at the NOLS farm, but those who wish to commute to and from the farm are welcome to do so. All meals will be provided Saturday and Sunday. On Friday evening, there will be a presentation and panel discussion followed by entertainment. This will be open to those attending the weekend camp as well as community members who are not able to attend the entire camp.
Pre-registration is appreciated! Go to www.salmonfirst.org to learn more and register.
